Holy wow!
(via Thomas Brand)
A few weeks ago, I got asked to create a portfolio of my work for a university interview. As with most things, my first stop was Google. After quite a while or searching, almost all articles online refer to online portfolios, which wasn’t what I needed. I needed to create a print portfolio that I could give the the interviewer. So I had to start wihtout any guidance.
My first thought, was to create something in Photoshop. I had a play around for a bit, but I’m not a graphic designer, so anything I would have created wouldn’t have looked great. So I opened up Keynote and started creating a presentation. This proved far easier than Photoshop, due to the user friendly nature of Keynote. Most of my work is websites, so it was pretty simple to create; take a few screenshots, crop them and arrange them. Simple as that.
I am fairly pleased with the result considering the limited amount of work I had to showcase. Below are some sample pages so you can see the finished result.
Client: ”Because this is the first time that we’ve met, I want to be completely upfront and honest with you. I want to let you know that about five years ago I was in a mental institution, but then I found Jesus and he showed me a vision. That vision was what I want to discuss with you today.”
Me: ”Okay.. How can I help you?”
Client: ”I want you to design some business cards for my company. I fix air conditioners.”
Prepare for the most mind meltingly realistic CGI ever. [F**cking wow]
